Shoe Store

Washington DC - 2007

Gronning Architects was commissioned to be the architect for the new DC location of an existing local skate-shop. Completed in 2007, this 1500 SF skateboard and sneaker shop utilizes existing elements found in the building, which included exposed brick, existing wood joists and concrete floors. A system of drywall planes and forms were added to the shell to frame backdrops for product display. A system of wood shelves and cabinets were also added to the space, all of which were fabricated by Gronning Design + Manufacturing.
